Olga Oretsky
Olga Oretsky is a genetic counselor who works in an outpatient cancer clinic. She studied biochemistry and psychology at the University of Pennsylvania during the years of 2013 to 2017. She then worked in the Affective Neuroscience and Pain Laboratory at the National Institutes of Health from 2017 to 2019. Afterwards, Olga returned to the University of Pennsylvania in 2020-2022, where she earned her Master of Science in Genetic Counseling.
In 2022, she and her then-fiancé (now husband) Jonathan met Rabbi Yitzchok Yagod, whom they began learning with. After their wedding in 2024 (officiated by Rabbi Yagod!), Olga and her husband held one of their sheva brachos at the newly-opened Beth Avraham shul. Olga and Jonathan go to the shul regularly for Shabbos and chagim.
Olga manages the website as well as various administrative odds and ends for the shul with the help of her mother and sister. Her excellent organizational skills and willingness to help every member of the community are assets that help things run smoothly. She loves meeting new people at the shul and sometimes even convincing them to play frisbee with her.
